Abstract

PURPOSE: To increase the superficial velocity in a column of ozone-containing gas and perform water treatment of good efficiency by increasing the flow rate of the ozone-containing gas being introduced into a vapor-liquid contact tower by the air from another air supply unit.
CONSTITUTION: An air supply unit 6 separate from an ozone generator 1 is provided and the air feed pipe 7 from this air supply unit 6 is connected to the mixer 9 provided to the exit side piping 8 of the ozone generator 5. The water to be treated such as secondary treated water of human waste, etc. is introduced from the top of a vapor-liquid contact tower 10 and the ozone-containing gas which has attained the desired superficial velocity in a column through controlling of the air feed rate from the air supply unit 6 is directed from the bottom of the tower and contacted with said water. Then, the water to be treated is efficiently treated and since there is no need for increasing ozone density, the costs such as electric power, equipment etc. are reduced.
