Abstract

PURPOSE: To eliminate the necessity for using a conventional position sensor, by driving a stop motor with the signal of a switch on-off operated by the movement of a control valve for controlling an intake air flow rate to an engine.
CONSTITUTION: A bypass passage 8 having a flow control valve 9 is provided in parallel to a passage part 7 having a throttle valve 3. The control valve 9 is driven through a step motor 16 by an output signal from an electronic controller 17 to which various signals from an air flowmeter 2 and the like are input. Further the control valve 9 consists of a valve point 10, rod 12 with a rack 13 and switch 14, and a pinion 19 in the motor 16 is engaged to the rack 13. The switch 14 performs its on-off operation for the valve point 10 at not more than a fixed opening further at not less than a fixed opening, then the controller 17 outputs a correction signal on the basis of a signal in accordance with on-off operation of the switch 14 to variably turn the motor 16.
