Abstract

PURPOSE:To reduce the chip area, to make easy the design of sense amplifier and to enable high speed operation, by making common use the column decoder to a plurality of sense amplifier groups. CONSTITUTION:A plurality of blocks having sense amplifier columns SAG1, SAG2 and memory cell groups CG1-CG4 of dynamic type connected to the columns, are provided, and row decoder RD is provided corresponding to each block. The column decoder CDG which outputs the output of sense amplifier of each block selectively to the data bus, is commonly provided to each block. Thus, the column decoder is not necessary to be increased accompanied with the increase in the sense amplifier group and the chip area can be decreased.
