Abstract

PURPOSE:To restore the computer automatically to normal state, by detecting the runaway of microcomputer automatically from the distortion in the period of the computer and resetting the computer. CONSTITUTION:In the binary counter 31 of the microcomputer 20, the initial pulse P0 of the computer 20 is input to the reset terminal RES and the pulse P1 is output from the terminal Q1. The binary counter 32 is reset with the pulse P2 output from the Q2 terminal of the counter 31. Thus, when the period of the pulse P3 output from the Q3 terminal of the counter 32 is taken longer than the period of the pulse P2 of the counter 31, the pulse P3 keeps low level at all times. If the computer 20 runs away in th softward due to noise or failure, the reset signal PR being the output pulse of the reset signal generating circuit 40 is at low level and the computer 20 restores to normal state with the reset given to the computer 20.
