Abstract

PURPOSE: To manufacture the titled inexpensive shape with high accuracy, corrosion resistance, extrudability and bendability by extruding an Al alloy contg. Mn, Cu, Ti and B and permissibly contg. a small amount of Fe, Si, Mg, Cr and Zr after soaking.
CONSTITUTION: An Al alloy is cast contg. 0.30W0.7% Mn, 0.07W0.20% Cu and 0.01W0.06% in total of ≤0.06% Ti and ≤0.05% B and permissibly contg. ≤0.60% Fe, ≤0.30% Si, ≤0.05% Mg, ≤0.05% Cr and ≤0.20% Zr while always making the Fe content higher than the Si content. This alloy is soaked at 500W 620°C for ≥3hr and extruded to manufacture an Al alloy extruded shape for a heat exchanger.
