Abstract
PURPOSE:To reduce the number of manufacturing steps and to improve reliability by touching auxiliary terminals which are provided on the side or lower part while main terminals are provided on the upper part to the connecting conductor through the cells a part of which is exposed in the container, and welding with current from the main terminals. CONSTITUTION:A battery is formed by containing electrolyte 2, negative electrodes 3, positive electrodes 4, and separators 5 in the container 1. Main terminal projections 6, 7 are provided on the upper parts of the negative electrodes 3 and positive electrodes 4, and auxiliary terminal projections 8, 9 are provided on their bottom parts to form main terminals 10, 11 and auxiliary terminals 12, 13. A through the cells-connecting conductor 14 is fixed liquid-tightly on the bottom of the container 1, ends of which are exposed in the cells. The ends are touched to the auxiliary terminals 12, 13, and a current is sent from the main terminals 10, 11 to weld and connect the touched parts. The main terminals 10, 11 also are connected through the cells.
