Abstract
PURPOSE:To make the formation of straps and the connection of cells unnecessary to increase production efficiency by arranging a middle plate to which a conductor is united between a container and a cover, and connecting the lugs of a plate group in each cell to the conductor. CONSTITUTION:A container 4 and a middle plate 3 are melt-bonded, and the lugs of plate groups are inserted into the slits 13 of cell connecting conductors 2 and post connecting conductors 14 and the lugs 8 protruded from the middle plate 3 are welded to the conductor 2 and 14 with solder and others, and then residual spaces of the slits 13 are sealed with acid-resistant synthetic resin. Posts are connected to the post connecting conductors 14, and electrolyte is poured, sealing plugs 9 are installed, a cover 5 and the middle plate 3 are melt- bonded, and then terminals are formed at the tops of posts 15. A synthetic resin film used for sealing plugs is gaspermeable but does not penetrate an electrolyte 11. Even if a lead-acid battery is tilted, electrolyte leakage from the cell can be prevented.
