Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain a reproduction stylus of a pickup for the electrostatic capacity type video disk having a large adhesion strength of an electrode, by providing an electrode metallic layer on a diamond base, through a metallic oxide layer to which heat treatment has been performed. CONSTITUTION:A metallic oxide layer 5 of about 50-300Angstrom in thickness is formed on a diamond base 4 by means of evaporation, etc., subsequently it is brought to heat treatment at about 550-1,200 deg.C in a nonoxidizing atmosphere, and the base 4 and the layer 5 are firmly coupled by a compound layer 6 formed by a reaction of diamond and carbon. Subsequently, an electrode metallic layer 7 is formed by sticking a metal whose melting point is comparatively high (to be selected from titanium, zirconium, palladium, etc.) to a prescribed thickness by means of evaporation, etc., on the metallic oxide layer 5, after that, it is brought to heat treatment at approx. 500 deg.C or above in a nonoxidizing atmosphere, and a reproduction stylus is made by coupling the layer 5 and 7 by an intermediate layer 8 formed by a reaction of the electrode metal and oxygen in the metallic oxide.
