Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain a reproduction stylus of a pickup for the electrostatic capacity type video disk having a large adhesion strength of an electrode, by providing an electrode metallic layer on a sapphire base, through an aluminum layer to which heat treatment has been performed. CONSTITUTION:An aluminum layer 5 of a prescribed thickness is formed by means of evaporation, etc., on a sapphire base 4, subsequently it is brought to heat treatment at a melting point of aluminum or below (about 630 deg.C is desirable) in a nonoxidizing atmosphere, and the base 4 and the layer 5 are firmly coupled by a diffusion layer 6 formed by a reaction of aluminum and sapphire. Subsequently, an electrode metallic layer 7 is formed by sticking a metal which is easy to form a compound with aluminum (to be selected from titanium, zirconium, tungsten, etc.) to a prescribed thickness by means of evaporation, etc., on the aluminum layer 5, after that, it is brought to heat treatment at approx. 500 deg.C or above in a nonoxidizing atmosphere, and a reproduction stylus is made by coupling the layer 5 and the layer 7 by an intermediate layer 8 formed by a reaction of the electrode metal and aluminum.
