Abstract

PURPOSE:To decrease the distributed capacity in the vicinity of the sensing element and to increase the sensitivity of the detector by providing a pair of current collecting electrodes on the upper surface at a pyroelectric film and an opposing electrode at the bottom surface thereof, and bending the pyroelectric film so that the pair of electrode are located at the upper and lower positions, respectively. CONSTITUTION:A pair of the current collecting electrodes 32 and 33 are evaporated on the upper surface of the pyroelectric film 31, and the oppsosing electrode 34is evaporated on the bottom surface. Said electrodes 32, 33, and 34 are simmetrically formed with respect to the center line A of the film 31 so that the overlapping areas of the opposing electrode 34 and the current collecting electrodes 32 and 33 are equal. The pyroelectric film 31 on which evaporation is made is bent toward a frame 35 and incorporated. Then the current collecting electrodes 32 and 33 are located at the upper and lower positions, respectively, and the sensor element parts are formed. In this constitution, the sensitivity of the infrared ray detecting can be increased in a simple strcuture.
