Abstract
PURPOSE:To attain small size and light weight and to reduce read time, by reading a change in resistance due to light of a photoconductive substance provided between a lot of upper and lower electrodes arranged orthogonally with an external signal. CONSTITUTION:A photoconductive substance 8 has a large resistance change toward parallel direction with a photodetecting plane and a small resistance change toward perpendicular direction to the photodetecting plane and can keep a very high resistance value, when the photodetecting plane receives light. When a light from a light source 1 transmits through an original and enters a sensor 2, the sensor 2 receives the light passing through a protective glass 6 and the upper electrode 7 with the substance 8 and the substance 8 causes a resistance change according to the amount of light. In the sensor 7, the electrode 7 is collected at an upper electrode selecting section 4 and a lower electrode 9 is collected at a lower elctrode selection section 5 via a reading section 16 for the resistance value and they are arranged two-dimensionally. An arbitrary one is selected from the collected electrodes with the scanning by electron beams and the electrodes are sequentially scanned and read 16 while being synchronized with selection sections 4 and 5.
