Abstract
PURPOSE:To provide a titled sensor which is so constituted that the resistance value between electrodes is changed by the change in height by the temp. of a material of good conductivity and a large coefft. of volume expansion by disposing a conductive member in a thermometer and providing said material and the electrodes at both ends of the thermometers. CONSTITUTION:A material 2 such as mercury or the like of good conductivity and a large coefft. of volume expansion, such an electrode 4 that permits electrical conduction with a transparent conductive film 3 such as tin oxide and an electrode 5 electrically connected to the mercury 2 are provided in a glass tube 1 vapor- deposited with the film 3 on its inside surface. Since the film 3 is higher in resistance value as compared to the mercury 2, the resistance value between the electrodes 4- 5 depends on the resistance value of the film 3 from the top end face (a) of a mercury column down to the bottom end (b) of the electrode 4. Hence, if the volume of the mercury 2 changes with a change in temp., the resistance value between the electrodes 4-5 changes and this functions as a temp. sensor. It is also possible to know temps. by the scale 6 on the outer side of the glass tube 1.
