Abstract

PURPOSE: To enable an analog-type detection for the angle of slope even in a small space, by providing both the resistance line probe and the electrode into the U- shaped tube and also enclosing the conductive liquid to give a partial short circuit between the above-mentioned probe and electrode.
CONSTITUTION: Resistance line probe 4 is inserted into vacuum glass-made U- shaped tube 1 through the end part of one side, and electrode 6 is provided at the bottom part to form a sensor. At the same time, conducting liquid 2 such as the mercury or the like is enclosed into tube 1 so that the lower half of probe 4 may be soaked into the liquid. Th electric resistance value between probe 4 and electrode 6 is given by the value obtained by subtracting the portion of the probe soaked into liquid 2 from the full length of probe 4. If tube 1 is tilted, the length varies for the soaked portion of probe 4. Accordingly, the electric resistance value of the above- mentioned sensor's output terminal varies in terms of the analog value according to the slope of tube 1, thus enabling the detection of the slope angle of the measuring subject.
