Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain the device excellent in durability and reliability and simple in structure and high in detecting sensitivity by adhering and securing an infrared detecting element on a convex part placed on a bottom of a container by a conductive adhesive. CONSTITUTION:An earth electrode 1C of an infrared ray detecting element 1 comprising an pyroelectric body is directly electrically connected to a bottom plate 2a by adhering and securing on a bottom plate 2a of a container 2, for example, on a convex part 8 formed in an annular shape by a conductive adhesive. Thus, an opposing position to a light receiving surface electrode 1b of the detecting element 1 does not contact a bottom plate 2a, but forms a spacing and the detecting element 1 is equivalently hung and supported with respect to the container 2. In addition, the infrared detecting element 1 is directly supported to the convex part 8, so that it becomes excellent in durability and reliability and large in mechanical strength. Also since it is supported equivalently to the hung condition, it does scarcely receives the influence of the transmitted heat from container 2 and can obtain a detecting characteristic of high sensitivity.
