Abstract
PURPOSE: To simplify the structure of an arithemetic circuit used in an air-fuel ratio controlling system, by providing an AC coupling circuit for removing DC component from the output signal of an exhaust-gas sensor and taking out its fluctuating component, and controlling the air-fuel ratio by the result of comparison between the output of said AC coupling circuit and a reference level.
CONSTITUTION: When an engine is set into operation and an exhaust-gas sensor 8 is fully activated, an output signal fluctuating in a wide range of voltage is produced from the sensor 8, so that an amplified signal A shown in the latter half of wave form (a) is produced at the output terminal of an amplifier 91 in a control circuit 9. The signal A is converted into a signal B by an AC coupling capacitor 92a in a comparison circuit 92, and a comparator 92f produces an output shown by wave form (c) in the drawing by compensating the setting level in response to the signal B. The output signal of the comparator 92f is afforded via an integration circuit 93a to a comparator 93c in a modulating circuit 93, in which it is compared with the output of a triangular-wave generator 93b. Here, the output of the modulating circuit 93 serves to drive a vacuum control valve 10 at about 30Hz by a driving circuit 94, for effecting intermittent control of a control valve disposed in a passage by- passing a carburetor.
