CONSTITUTION: A vessel 15 both for adjustment and pressurized floatation is arranged adjacent to an aeration vessel 1 having a very deep bottom. Stock water is reserved in the vessel 15 for a while, and carried to a head tank 2 through a connection pipe 16. A part of an upward stream in the aeration vessel 1 is introduced through a part of its outside pipe 3 to the vessel 15. When the dissolved air in the water generates fine air bubbles, suspended solids in the stock water are separated by floatation. Consequently, load on the aeration vessel 1 can be reduced and the life of the sludge can be prolonged. As a result, the growth of nitrifying bacteria is facilitated well, and waste water is disposed at a high nitrification efficiency.
