Abstract
PURPOSE: To obtain a remarkably shortened disposal period and a remarkably miniaturized aeration vessel, in the biological disposal of waste water, by keeping the pressure on a water level in an aeration vessel at a specified value.
CONSTITUTION: Waste water is carried from a reservoir 1 to an aeration vessel 2, where the waste water is disposed in an active sludge process, while the pressure on the water level in the vessel 2 is kept at 3W10kg/cm2G. If the pressure is below the lower limit, the increase in a reaction speed is not so remarkable. If the pressure exceeds the upper limit, the increase in the reaction speed with the increase in the pressure is not so remarkable and a remarkable pressure resistance of the installation becomes necessary. If this method, the water in the vessel 2 is pressurized, so that an amount of air dissolved in the water is big. Consequently, when the water taken out of the vessel 2 is introduced as such into a sludge-separating apparatus kept under an ordinary pressure, a large quantity of bubbles is generated. Therefore, sludge-contng. water is advantageously fed from the vessel 2 through a reducing valve 7 into a floatation vessel 3.
