Abstract
PURPOSE: To reduce COD easily and rapidly in a small space by treating waste water from daily life consisting mainly of sewage under pressure by means of a permeable membrance having specified fractionated molecular weight, and contacting the permeated water with an oxidizing agent such as O2 and air.
CONSTITUTION: The waste water from daily life 1 consisting mainly of sewage is fed to a screen A for separating coarse particles; the separated water 2 is fed to a supply tank B and pressurized by a pump P before fed to a permeable membrane device C. As the permeable membrane of the device C, a membrane having a fractionated molecular weight of not larger than 15000, preferably not larger than 10000, is utilized. The condensed water 4 separated at the device C is discharged to the outside; the permeated water 5 is fed to the lower portion of an aeration device D and aerated by O2 or air 6 charged into the device D, and the treated water 7 is discharged to the outside.
