Abstract
PURPOSE: To prevent the lowering of adsorbing capacity due to hygroscopicity in treating a waste gas of steam regenation treatment and an undried condition by forming a high molecular porous coating having a siloxane bond on a waste gas contact surface of an adsorbing plate to carry out water repelling treatment.
CONSTITUTION: A sheet like activated carbon adsorbing plate is immersed in an alkali silicate solution and, after heat treatment, the polysiloxane type water repellent porous coating is formed thereon to prepare an adsorbing element 1. To sector shaped zones of both end parts of said element 1, desorbing gas introducing and discharge ducts 2, 3 are provided and, to the remaining rector shaped zones, treating gas introducing and discharge ducts 4, 5 are arranged opposedly. A desorbing gas A and a treating gas B are passed respectively and the desorption and regeneration is carried out at the sector shaped zones faced to the ducts 2, 3 and the adsorption carried out at the remaining sector shaped zones parallelly. The element 1 is rotated by a motor 6 to repeat the desorption, regeneration and the adsorption at a definite cycle. Because the adsorbing element 1 is subjected to the water repelling treatment, the deterioration of the capacity thereof due to hygroscopicity is not generated and the desorption and regeneration can be carried out for a relatively short time.
