Abstract

PURPOSE: To enhance the adsorbing and desorbing capacity of an adsorbent by circulating a heating or cooling gas through a purification system from the outside and correspondingly feeding a heating or cooling medium to a heat exchanger set in an adsorption tower to reduce gas flow rate and gas permeation resistance.
CONSTITUTION: Raw air 102 and cooling water are fed to adsorption tower 1 and heat exchanger 12 through valve 10, respectively, and moisture and N2 are adsorbed from the air to take out dry air of high O2 concn. through valve 2. On the other hand, air is circulated through adsorption tower 1' after a regeneration process with blower 106 and cooling water is fed to heat exchanger 12' from valve 10', whereby moisture and N2 are adsorbed to form dry air of high O2 concn., which supplies the reduced air. Air 104 for regeneration is heated 105 and fed to adsorption tower 1" after an adsorption process and heated water is fed to heat exchanger 12" through valve 9", whereby N2 is desorbed from the adsorbent and exhausted 7" as N2-enriched air to regenerate the adsorbent. When the adsorbing capacity of towar 1 is lowered, part of O2-enriched gas taken out from tower 1 is introduced into tower 1" to remove the residual air for regeneration.
