Abstract

PURPOSE: To make the flow of gas uniform, eliminate local overheating and efficienttly desorb and recover the organic solvent, by dividing the interior of a gas adsorption tower of the organic solvent recovery equipment into a plurality of adsorptive layers provided with heating/cooling functions and desorbed gas outlet ports.
CONSTITUTION: The interior of the adsorption tower 1 is divided into a plurality of adsorbent layers 11 by porous plates 10. A heating/cooling unit 13 is equipped for each adsorbent layer 11. Desorbed gas outlet ports 22 are provided in the walls of space portions 12 of the tower 1. When gas containing an organic solvent is conducted into the adsorption tower 1 through an inlet port 2, the organic solvent is adsorbed on an adsorbent such as activated charcoal in the adsorbent layers. At that time, cooling water is conducted to cooling units 18 to cool the layers 11 to increases the adsorbent. Subsequently, vacuum operation and heated steam introduction are effected to desorb the organic solvent from the layers 11 and recover the solvent through the outlet ports 22. According to this constitution, no carrier gas is used, the flow of the gas containing the organic solvent is made uniform and the solvent is efficiently and safely adsorbed, desorbed and recovered.
