Abstract

PURPOSE:To realize a detection of a multibit error with a simple constitution, by adding the faulty selection detecting information of a selection line to the reading information for transmission. CONSTITUTION:One of the selection lines S0-S3 is made effective via the decoder 6 of the memory element 1, and thus the contents of storage is read via the buffber amplifiers 7 to be selected for the corresponding memory cells 2. The lines S0-S3 are connected to the parity checking circuit 5, and thus a wrong selection such as a double selection and the like is selected for the lines S0-S3. Then the faulty selection detecting information is added to the information read out of the amplifiers 7 and then transmitted. As a result, not only an 1-bit error caused by a fault of the buffer amplifier or the like but a multibit error caused by a wrong selection of the selection line can be detected with a simple constitution added just by a parity checking circuit or the like.
