Abstract
PURPOSE:To increase S/N ratio of the ringing current and to prevent picked up image from lowering, by forming a photoconductive layer in a rectangular shape having an almost same size with an effective scanning zone. CONSTITUTION:A rectangular transparent signal electrode 14 composed of a transparent conductive film, which is a little larger than a photoconductive layer 13, is made with the photoconductive layer 13 having a rectangular shape which is a little larger than a definite effective scanning zone of electron beam. A transparent signal electrode 14 is provided on the upper surface of a substrate 5. A rectangular photoconductive layer 13 having a definite size is formed on the transparent signal electrode 14. In this case, the definite effective scanning zone of electron beam has almost the same size with the photoconductive layer 13. Thereby floating capacity between the nonscanned zone on the photoconductive layer and In metal ring 12 can be greatly reduced and image-picking up signal with a high S/N ratio can be obtained.
