Abstract
PURPOSE:To attain the enhancement of definition and the size reduction of a target without increasing the erasing and writing time and also damaging the beam permeadility characteristics by forming an insulating layer in such a way as to cut in a conductive plate. CONSTITUTION:A target consists of a conductive plate layer 1 and an insulating layer formed in such a way as to cut in the surface of the conductive plate layer 1. Since, in order to obtain optimum beam permeability characteristics, the insulating layer 2 can be thickened even when the width of the insulating layer 2 and also the height from the surface of the conductive plate layer 1 to the surface of the insulating layer 2 are small, the adhesion of the insulating layer 2 to the conductive plate layer 1 can never be weakened because the contact area between the conductive plate layer 1 and the insulating layer 2 is not reduced.
