Abstract

PURPOSE: To enable injection of chemicals without increasing any pond by injecting an aggregating agent into the incoming side of a final sedimentation pond while turbid components are removed on the outgoing side thereof with a partition provided in the pond of a sewage treating system comprising sedimentation ponds and an aeration tank in addition to the final sedimentation pond.
CONSTITUTION: A sewage pit partition 8 with a given length is set up at the intermediate section of a final sedimentation pond 3 inclined from the bottom thereof to divide it into two in the downflow direction. A chemical is injected into the incoming side of the pond 3 and well mixed with an agitator or the like while turbid components are settled on the outgoing side thereof. In this manner, the final pond performs two functions of mixing chemicals and settling the turbid components. The angle of setting the sewage pit partition 8 is variable according to the flow rate of the incoming sewage and the quality of water.
