Abstract

PURPOSE: To facilitate sludge management and to enhance treatment effct by sending and pouring water to be treated under pressure into a precipitation tank from a recycle line to generate a horizontal stirring stream for preventing excessive concentration of a viscous sludge and uneven distribution thereof in the tank.
CONSTITUTION: To several places in a precipitation tank 4, plural numbers of pouring pipes 8 of water to be treated having plural small pores 9 at regular intervals to one direction is arranged along an inner surface of a peripheral wall 4a of said tank 4. Then, each pouring pipe 8 of water to be treated is connected to a recycle line 10 connected to a line 5 and the water to be treated is sent into the precipitation tank 4 under pressure by driving a pump 9' and injected to a traverse direction along the inner surface of the tank peripheral wall 4a from the aforementioned small pores 9 and, thereby, a weak horizontal stirring stream is generated in the precipitation tank 4 and, by said horizontal stirring stream, excessive concentration of a sludge and uneven distribution thereof are prevented and bad return flow of the sludge to an aeration tank 4 and floatation of the rotten sludge are prevented.
