Abstract

PURPOSE: To discharge the concentrated sludge outside without lowering the concentration of solid matter of it, by introducing the water in which the concentration of solid matter is the same degree or less as the separated liquid of sludge at the lower part of concentrated sludge and pushing up the concentrated sludge.

CONSTITUTION: The inflow sludge 3 is introduced into the floating concentration vessel 1 after adding the denitrifying reaction accelerator 7 and the concentrated sludge 1A floated by the denitrifying reaction, is separated from the lower separated liquid 1B from the sludge. Water having the concentration of solid matter at the same degree or less as the liquid 1B, is introduced into the liquid 1B in the vessel 1 through the duct 5 and the sludge 1A is pushed up at the time of discharging the sludge 1A. On this occasion, the interface between the sludge 1A and the liquid 1B, is firm and is not destroyed by the injection of water. Next, the pushed up sludge 1A is scraped by the scraper 8 and is discharged to the vessel 10. Said injection of water interlocks the sludge densimeter 11 with the water injection pump 12 and is stopped at the time when the liquid 1B reaches the densimeter 11. Further, the injected water and liquid 1B, are discharged by the drain pump through the duct 6 at the time of finishing scraping and discharge of the sludge 1A.
