Abstract

PURPOSE: To separate iron ore effectively from coal and take the ore out by means of a scraper from a separator tank, the bottom of which is magnetized and sticks the iron ore in a slurry mixture of the iron ore and coal.
CONSTITUTION: A mixed slurry of coal and iron ore being poured from the top of a separator tank 9, flows down along the bottom of the tank while the slurry is agitated by water coming from sprinklers 13. During this slurry flow down, the iron ore is sticked to the bottom of the tank which is magnetized when coils 14 are energized; while the coal, together with water, is flushed away and discharged from a coal slurry drain 11. The iron ore sticked on the bottom of the tank is scraped and discharged from an iron ore outlet 10 by scrapers 16 which are transferred toward the outlet 10 by means of chains 15 moving at a constant speed.
