Abstract

PURPOSE: To enhance fermentation efficiency and to protect a pipe from being clogged with solids, by returning a disposed solution from a fermentation vessel to a pipe which is used for charging the solids to the fermentation vessel of a methane fermentation apparatus.
CONSTITUTION: A fermentation vessel 1 is provided with a pipe 2 for charging material to be fermented and with a returning pipe 3. One end of the returning pipe 3 is connected to the bottom of the vessel 1, while the other end of the pipe is connected to the charging pipe 2 at a portion near a charging opening. Garbages 17 are charged through the pipe 2 into a liquidizing chamber 8, while by the operation of an underwater blower 75 a part of disposed water in a digestion chamber 9 is carried through the returning pipe 3 to the charging pipe 2 and flows with the charged garbages through the pipe 2 to the liquidizing chamber 8. Owing to the water returning, the pipe 2 is not clogged with the charged material, and also a methane fermentation efficiency is enhanced by the agitation effect.
