Abstract
PURPOSE: To separate and recover the pig iron contained in the slag within a molten iron laddle and to make it easy to discharge the slag within the said laddle by a method wherein the slag within a molten iron laddle is discharged into other molten iron laddle containing molten iron and the molten slag of a converter is added thereon.
CONSTITUTION: The floating slag 4 within a molten iron laddle 2 is scraped out into other molten iron laddle 2' containing molten iron 3 by a scraping bar 1 and piled on the molten iron 3 as a molten iron slag 6. In this time, the molten iron simultaneously flowed out is entered into the molten iron 3 within the laddle 2' moreover, pig ion particles contained within the slag 6 is existed within the slag 6. Subsequently, the molten laddle 2' is moved to the lower part of the converter 8 which is in such a condition that the tap is just completed and the slag exhausion is not yet commenced and the molten slag 9 within a converter is poured into a molten iron laddle 2'. This molten slag 9 is boiled by contacting with the molten iron within a laddle 2' and CaO of the molten slag 9 and SiO2 within the piled slag are reacted to form the slag with good flowability and the pig iron particles contained therein are separated and recovered into the molten iron thereunder.
