Abstract
PURPOSE: To continuously cast-produce a wirelike metal piece for corrosion preventive galvanic anode by supplying molten metal and core metal between the multiple molds provided on the entire circumferential part of a rotating drum and an endless belt covering the half circumference of the drum.
CONSTITUTION: A rotary drum 1 formed with multiple molds 8 by means of center partitions 16 over the entire surface of the circumferential part is rotated, and the circumferential part in the lower half of the drum 1 is covered with an endless belt 2 made of a sheet of mild steel or stainless steel, and these are moved at the same speed. Molten metal for corrosion preventive galvanic anodes is poured from a pouring device 7 into between these molds 8 and the endless belt 2; at the same time, a core material 15 is supplied into the molds 8. A notch 17 is beforehand provided to each partition 16 for forming the molds 8 by these parts. The drum 1 and the belt 2 rotate and move simultaneously, and the molten metal is cooled and solidified by the cooling water through the nozzles 3 from the front and back surfaces thereof, whereby the multiple metal ingots as corrosion preventive galvanic anodes is continuously mass-produced.
