Abstract
PURPOSE:To prevent any liquid leakage from the peripheral part of the electrode of a thin battery, by applying an adhesive to the separator-side periphery of the zinc plate beforehand. CONSTITUTION:A carbon film 3 is affixed to the surface of a metal plate 2 to make a collector 1, to which a positive mixture 4 is applied. After that, a negative zinc plate 6 is placed over the mixture 4 with a separator 5 interposed between the plate 6 and the mixture 4, a thin battery being constituted. Here, the separator-side periphery of the zinc plate 6 is provided with an adhesive 61 beforehand. After that, both the peripheral part of the separator 5 and the peripheral part of the zinc plate 6, and the peripheral part of a positive armor body 9 and the peripheral part of a negative armor body 7 are joined. The adhesive 61 is preferred to be either a combined system mixture of a nitrile rubber with a phenol resin, or a fatty polyamide resin system compound. Consequently, the joining between the separator and the peripheral part of the negative zinc plate is unified, the liquid leakage of the battery is prevented, and any capacity loss as well as any corrosion of the collector metal can be obviated.
