Abstract
PURPOSE:To prevent the deformation such as a curvature or the like of a separator, by disposing a metallic separator hold-down plate between a gasket and the separator, in a button-type battery which is made by combining a positive can and a negative can through the gasket. CONSTITUTION:In a button-type battery which is formed by combining through a gasket 51, a positive can 1 filled with a positive mixture 2 and provided with a disposed separator 3 and a negative can 4 composed by storing a negative mixture 6 and an electrolytic solution, and by hermetically fastening the periphery of the positive can, a separator hold-down plate 9 is inserted to be fixed between the gasket 51 and the separator 3. The hold-down plate 9 is composed of a punched metal plate, whereon such treatments as mercury sodering, tin plating, silver evaporation, resin film coating or the like are performed. The under surface of gasket 51 is provided with a shallow groove which holds the fitted hold- down plate and is not brought in contact with the positive can 1. Consequently, the separator adheres closely to the positive electrode, and at the assembly time, air is not involved, so that deformation such as curvature or the like can be prevented.
