Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain a copied picture with invariably uniform density, by gradually increasing the gap between a corona discharger and photoreceptor surface. CONSTITUTION:The diameter of roller 3a at the side of cleaning device 9 is made smaller than that of the other roller 2, and while axial cores of both rollers 2 and 3a are arranged in parallel to the same plane, photoreceptor 1 slants down from point A to point B. The gradient of photoreceptor 1 is so determined that points A and B will be held equal in electrostatic latent image potential during development; for example, photoreceptor 1 slants so that distance D between the flank of shielded case 4a and the surface of photoreceptor 1 will be 2mm. at point A and 4mm. at point B in the figure. Further, a corona applied voltage is set to 6.0kV. As a result, the charging potential decreases gradually between points A and B during the development processing, the electrostatic latent image has a uniform potential over the entire area.
