Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent a scatter of an image at a guide member which receives an image supporting material from a carriage belt by providing a self-discharge type electrostatics discharger in a carriage path which guides the image supporting material to a fixing device while the tip of the discharger has an interval with the image supporting material. CONSTITUTION:Paper 3 carrying an unfixed image 6 transferred from a photosensitive drum 17 is carried in contact with a carriage belt 15 and then received by a fixed plate-like guide member 2. Between the belt 15 and guide member 2, a self- discharge type static electricity removing brush 18 is arraged to remove unnecessary positive charge gradually on the reverse surface of the paper 3 when the paper 3 passes over the brush 18. In this case, excessive discharging is not performed because there is a gap between the brush 18 and paper 3, so that no disorder of the image occurs.
