Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent a transfer shift, image distortion, jam, etc., from occurring by relaying and carrying a transfer material by providing a front transfer roller, having a transfer material guide, between a transfer part and register roller. CONSTITUTION:Between transfer discharger 14 and register roller 21, front transfer roller 23 is provided closely to photoreceptor drum 6, and transfer material guide 28 is pressed softly against the roller by its own weight or a spring. Roller 23 is rotated, differing in direction from drum 6, at the same peripheral speed. In this constitution, copying material 13 is pushed to roller 23 by guide 28 and carried to the drum surface. Even if the carriage force of register roller 21 does not operate upon transfer material 13 any more, the relaying carriage force of roller 23 operates, so that the material will continuously be carried with stability until its tail end comes extremely close to transfer part A. Thus a transfer shift, image distortion, jam, etc., are prevented.
