Abstract

PURPOSE: To reduce the clearance between adjoining electrostatic latent images on a photoreceptor by controlling the moving speed of the photoreceptor by way of a buffer device at the time of exposure.
CONSTITUTION: As an original base 1 moves at a speed V1, the exposure scanning light by light source 2 images on a photoreceptor 4 which is moved at a constant speed V3 by a drum 5 by way of an optical fiber 3, by which latent images are formed. In this case, the rollers 6, 7 which form the buffer device move at a speed V4 in the same direction as that of the original base 1. This causes the moving speed of the photoreceptor 4 to be controlled so that the rlative speed of the photoreceptor 4 and the original base 1 becomes zero, whrerby latent images free from any deviation are formed. On the other hand, if the moving speed of the rollers 6, 7 in the same direction as the return direction of the original base 1 is controlled at the returning of the speed V2 of the original base 1, the relative speed of the photoreceptor 4 and the original base 1 becomes nearly zero and the spacings between the adjoining latent images formed in the photoreceptor 4 become minimum value. Hence, continuous copying may be well performed by developing, fixing, copying, etc. to the photoreceptor 4 moving at a constant speed.
