Abstract

PURPOSE:To produce a fine vitreous ball to be used for a solar heat collecting material and the like by filling a fine vitreous ball having a diameter with a limited range with a metallic substance. CONSTITUTION:A fine vitreous ball 3-7mu in diameter is contained in a vessel and heated after sealed reduction in pressure to expel water from the glass ball. Thereafter, various metallic salt solutions of copper, silver and the like is put into the vessel and maintained at a room temperature under the pressure. The metallic salt solution penetrates into the ball through a fine hole through which the water has passed. When heated again following washing, the fine vitreous balls are filled in the fine clearance with a metallic substance. The fine vitreous balls are used for a solar heat collecting material and the like.
