Abstract

PURPOSE:To get up speeds for absorbing and discharging hydrogen in such a way that metal hydride and a hydrogen inlet port are conducted together through porous matter in three dimensional structure, which are arranged in a vessel capable of hermetically enclosing them. CONSTITUTION:Metal hydride 8 is filled in the interior of a foamed metal 1 in such a way that foamed metal 1, such as iron, zinc, etc. is arranged and fixed in cylindrical shape around the interior of a vessel capable of hermetically enclosing them, which is made of bottomed cylindrical metal, and interstitial parts 3 in the foamed metal 1 can be connected to a hydrogen inlet port 9a. Thus, when hydrogen is put through the hydrogen inlet port 9a in the vessel 4, since hydrogen is evenly absorbed into the metal hydride 8 through the foamed metal 1 installed around the inside of the vessel 4, absorbing and discharging hydrogen can get up speeds.
