Abstract

PURPOSE: To prevent the rise in the pressure of a rotor chamber, by providing a hydrogen gas absorber of palladium at an appropriate place in the rotor chamber to absorb hydrogen gas produced in the reaction of a secondary conductor of aluminum with a filled liquid.
CONSTITUTION: The hydrogen gas absorber 25 of palladium is provided on a plug 1 and located at the appropriate place in the rotor chamber 2 of a submerged motor which has the secondary conductor 3 of aluminium. Water or a mixture thereof is enclosed in the rotor chamber 2. Since the hydrogen gas produced in the chemical reaction of the secondary conductor 3 of aluminium with the liquid in the rotor chamber 2 is absorbed by the absorber, the rise in the pressure of the rotor chamber 2 is prevented. As a result, the leakage of the enclosed liquid, the invasion of outside liquid and the dry use of bearings are prevented.
