Abstract

PURPOSE: To prevent freezing caused inside a cooling pipe and enable a long-time operation in an ice production, by detecting variation in pressure or in flow rate of a liquid to be treated to control a cooling heat energy, when super-cooling a liquid for treatment by means of indirect heat exchange.
CONSTITUTION: A liquid to be treated flows in a concentrated liquid tank 2, mixes with concentrated liquid from a pipe line 10, is cooled to the supercooled, state by passing through a cooling pipe 6 equipped in a vaporiser 15, and is sent to an ice production device 8. In this process, if cryohydrates are generated in the cooling pipe 6 or in a pipe line 7 caused by some outside disturbance, deviations in pressure or in flow rate are detected by a pressure converter 12 in a pipe line 5 and a flow rate converter 13 in a pipe line 7. A deviation between this detected value and the set value of normal operation, is converted into an electrical quantity, whose signal is sent to a compressor 16 or an expansion valve 18 to stop the supply of cooling medium to the cooling pipe 6. By this means, the cryohydrates generated inside the cooling pipe 6 are melted away and made to return to an original super-cooled state.
