Abstract

PURPOSE: For highly economical and energy saving operation, sludge temperature is measured prior to sludge freezing, the value is used to calculate the opening degree of cooling medium feed valves required for freezing sludge, and control is adequately performed.
CONSTITUTION: Temperature sensor 20 measures sludge temperature, which is inputted in the temperature calculator 22 through converter 21. The calculator 22 finds the quantity of cooling medium required for optimum sludge freezing. The calculated value is used by valve opening calculator 23 to find how much the cooling medium valves 10, 11 are to be opened. The signal is sent to valve control circuit 24 which regulates the degree of valve opening. After sludge is frozen, the cooling medium valves 10, 11 are closed, and heat medium valves 12, 13 are opened to circulate heat medium through heat exchanger 18, heat medium tank 17, and heat medium pump 16 to melt sludge.
