Abstract

PURPOSE: To miniaturize the cooling apparatus and prevent deterioration in the capacity through a proper change in the volume and the flow rate of the heating medium by using a cooling water passing through a condenser for the medium so as to reduce the required number of the condensers installed to the freezing device to only one.
CONSTITUTION: When pumps 19 and 20 work by the operation of valves 16c to 16l, a cooling water as a heating medium cooled with an evaporator 11a flows through a chamber 3a where it freezes a raw sludge surrounding thereof while that passing through a condenser 11b enters a chamber 3b after passing at a cooling tower 21 to melt a frozen sludge surrounded by the chamber 3b. The passage through the tower lowers, the temperature of the cooling water thereby improving the cooling capacity. In the simultaneous the cooling performance of cooling and heating, the low temperature at the initial melting of the frozen sludge reduces the condensation pressure of the water as cooling medium.
