Abstract

PURPOSE: To prevent deterioration in the heating capacity of the heat pump accompanying a drop in the ambient temperature.
CONSTITUTION: A cooling medium heater 5 is provided on the downstream of an indoor heat exchanger 3. In the heating, a cooling medium gas with a high temperature as well as pressure is compressed with a compressor 1 frows into the indoor heat exchanger 3 by a fourway valve 2 where it is condensed and liquified to become a liquid cooling medium. Then, reduced in the pressure with a heating pressure reduction mechanism, the liquid flows into the cooling medium heater 5. There, with heat forcedly added, the cooling medium is gasified in vapor returning to the compressor. Therefore, as the cooling medium is not evaporated with the open air as the heat source, any drop in the ambient temperature causesno deterioration in the heating capacity
