Abstract
The low temperature grinding system for e.g. plastics material, employs a cooling chamber, a grinding chamber and a collecting chamber interconnected by valve controlled lines to a compressor and counterflow heat exchanger so that the material to be ground is cooled by a refrigerating medium, then carried into the grinding chamber by a conveying gas, the refrigerant circulating in a closed circuit and cooled by heat exchange with a refrigeration circuit, while the conveying gas is cooled by the refrigerant circulating in a second closed circuit, the refrigerant passing in counterflow through the material to be ground then through the ground material. The refrigerant gas and/or the conveying gas are lighter than the refrigerating medium. The heat exchanger inside the cooling chamber is connected to the refrigerant supply by suitable pipes and to the counterflow heat exchanger.
