Abstract

PURPOSE: To achieve energy-saving and make the disintegration of scraps easy by using the exhaust gas heat of a melting furnace device as a heating source of an absorption type refrigerator and using the absorption type refrigerator as a cooling source of a gas compression type refrigerator for disintegration of casting scraps.
CONSTITUTION: The air by the fan 5 of a melting furnace device A is cooled and dehumidified by coolers 13, 14 and is then fed into the furnace body 1. The waste gas heat of the body 1 is recovered as hot water or steam by a heat exchanger 15 and the waste gas heat of the engine 19 of a gas compression type refrigerator B by a heat exchanger 45. This hot water or steam is introduced into the heating pipe 43 of an absorption type refrigerator C to heat and concentrate the LiBr solution of a regenerator 37. The steam generated through condensation is cooled in a condensing chamber 41 and is atomized into a steam chamber 50 to cool the cooling water in the cooling pipe 51. The discharge gas having undergone two-stage compression in the refrigerating compressors 17, 18 of the refrigerator B is liquefied by the cooling water obtained by the device C and is evaporated through expansion valves 33, 27. It then cools the inside of a cryogenic chamber 28 to about -40°C, thereby putting the casting scraps put in the chamber 28 to the state that they are readily breakable owing to low temperature brittleness.
