Abstract
PURPOSE:To detect proper deflection of ink particles by providing a pluraity of guard plates forming a slit in a specified shape as well as a detection electrode in the flying route of the charged ink particles in an ink-jet recording device. CONSTITUTION:In the ink-jet recording device, two guard plates 231 and 232 forming a slit are provided in the flying course of the charged ink particles, while the detection electrode 24 against which the ink particles passing through the slit collide is provided in the rear of the slit. The guard plates 231 and 232 are arranged in such a manner that the space between them is widened on the upstream side in relation to the flying direction of the ink particles and narrowed on the downstream side, while the end parts thereof forming the slit on the downstream side are arranged in divergence from each other in the flying direction of the ink particles. And, by using the analog voltage of an integration circuit 27 generated by the collision of the charged ink particles with the detection electrode 24, the charged ink particles are detected correctly, and thus the control of the amount of deflection of the ink particles is performed by a control circuit 28.
