In an ink jet recorder of such a type, information on diviation in the deflection i detected by checking a charging voltage to fly the charged ink particles to a charge detector 60 set at the set reference position or a level corresponding thereto to adjust an ink pressure according to the charging voltage and the level corresponding thereto.
