Abstract

PURPOSE: To keep recording density constant and also hold the deflection of charged ink particles constant by controlling an ink temperature on the basis of the speed detection signal of flying ink particles and then by controlling a charging voltage on the basis of a deflection-position detection signal.
CONSTITUTION: While ink particles fly between charge detection electrodes 81 and 82, the Q output of FF30b is held at level "1" and a charging current is supplied to capacitor 30b. Therefore, its charging voltage is low or high according to the flying speed of ink particles and then compared with voltages Vs5 and Vs6, i.e. the highest speed limit value and lowest limit value by comparators 30e1 and 30e2 to give a temperature-increase or temperature-decrease command or latch command to heater control circuit 31, which cintrols the temperature of nozzle 5. On the other hand, charged ink particles deviate from a fixed track and strike charge detection electrode 62 or 63, and consequently the output of differential amplifiers 262 or 263 is held at "1" to increase or decrease the output voltage of level setting cirfuit 28, thereby varying the gain of level adjustment circuit 27. The output of circuit 27 is inputted to charge control circuit 20 to control the voltage of charge electrode 7.
