Abstract
PURPOSE:To enhance the effect when reproducing facsimile picture image by the ink jet recording method, by controlling the attraction phase between particles on the basis of the signal showing the recording initial signal, thereby extremely improving the array (linearity) of recording ink particles in the longitudinal direction. CONSTITUTION:A glass nozzle 51 has an ultrasonic vibrator 52, which vibrates when a high frequency voltage 53 at frequency fo is applied from a crystal oscillator. An ink pole 54 given back pressure and vibrations is spaced at a certain distance from the surface of nozzle, and is granulated at frequency fo. Being charged by a charging electrode 55, the ink particless pass through a sense electrode 56 and are subjected to electrostatic deflection at deflecting electrode 57, 57' to be further charged. The charged ink particles are put on a recording paper 58, while uncharged particles move straight ahead to be collected in a gutter 59. At this time, the quantity of charge of the charged ink particles is detected at the sense electrode 56, and the charge phase is controlled on the basis of the detected quantity of electrical charge. This control is intended to change the phase to charge the ink particles with respect to the high frequency signal to excite the nozzle, thus detecting the optimum phase and maintaining this phase while recording.
